Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi) as a Potential Memory Enhancer: A Review

Abstract
Bacopa monnieri Linn., commonly known as Brahmi, belongs to the family Plantaginaceae. It is an herb native to the wetlands of Southern and Eastern India, Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America. The leaves, flowers, and whole plant are used to treat various diseases. Bacopa monnieri is used to treat various diseases, especially CNS-related diseases. It has a great impact on improving memory. Other relevant studies prove that it shows antiepileptic activity and can also reduce anxiety and stress. Brahmi contains triterpenoid saponin glycosides, indocentelloside, brahminoside, bhramoside, and asiaticosides.
